David Cobb has 30 years of experience successfully defending construction defect claims, personal injury lawsuits, business litigation, and insurance coverage opinions.
He has tried numerous jury cases to verdict as the lead attorney in state and federal courts throughout South Carolina and has an AV Preeminent rating from Martindale-Hubbell. David is a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA) and David also has been certified as a South Carolina state court mediator since 2004.
David represents general contractors, subcontractors, architects, and product manufacturers, including products liability claims, exterior insulation and finish systems (EIFS)/synthetic, stucco claims,warranty claims, and class actions. Further, David has successfully defended automobile accident, premises liability, and other negligence lawsuits. He also has considerable experience with insurance coverage issues and declaratory judgment actions for construction and personal injury claims.
David was graduated from Furman University (Greenville, SC) with a degree in political science, magna cum laude. He is a member of Phi Beta Kappa and was a member of Furman’s 1988 NCAA I-AA National Champion football team. David obtained his law degree from the University of South Carolina in 1993.
He has served as the Charleston Furman Club president since 2000 and is a member of the Furman Sports Network’s television and radio broadcast crew for Paladin football games. David also has served as the public address announcer for Airport High School (West Columbia, SC) football games since 1991 and has coached the Fort Dorchester High School (North Charleston, SC) mock trial team since 2003.
