Josey Selected to Serve on Commission on Continuing Legal Education

Turner Padget is pleased to announce that J. René Josey, a shareholder in our Florence office, has been appointed by the Supreme Court of South Carolina to serve on the Commission on Continuing Legal Education and Specialization.    He will serve a three year term which begins July 1, 2014.    The Supreme Court of South Carolina Commission on Continuing Legal Education & Specialization is a commission of the Supreme Court which oversees mandatory CLE for approximately 10,000 South Carolina judges and lawyers. 

Mr. Josey is a member of the Business Litigation team whose practice includes a wide range of civil and criminal trial and appellate litigation.  He is a graduate of Clemson University and a graduate of the University of South Carolina School of Law where he was a member of the Order of Wig and Robe and served as an editor of the South Carolina Law Review as well as an instructor of Legal Research and Writing.  In 1990, René was honored as South Carolina’s Pro Bono Lawyer of the year.   René was appointed by President Bill Clinton to serve as the United States Attorney for the District of South Carolina from 1996 to 2001.
