Columbia, S.C., July 16, 2015 – Turner Padget Graham & Laney P.A. announces that Catherine H. Kennedy has been honored with the South Carolina Bar’s Robert P. Wilkins Probate and Estate Award. This inaugural distinction was established to recognize an attorney’s meritorious service to the practice of probate, estate and trust law in the State of South Carolina. Kennedy was nominated by her peers in the South Carolina Bar, and honored at the biennial Al Todd Estate Planning Workshop on July 11. Kennedy is special counsel in Turner Padget’s Columbia office.
Kennedy brings to her clients experience from both sides of the bench, having served as probate court judge in Columbia from 1987 to 1999. She represents individuals and fiduciaries in complicated probate and trust matters.
To be eligible for the Robert P. Wilkins Probate and Estate Award, an attorney must be in good standing with the South Carolina Bar, must have spent at least 50 percent of his or her time over the last 10 years practicing or teaching in the area of probate, estate and trust law, and must be a member of the South Carolina Bar’s Probate, Estate Planning and Trust Section.
