Ian McVey is a shareholder in the Columbia office. His goal is to be a utility player for his clients.

He regularly represents developers, lenders and local businesses as they conduct their business matters in South Carolina whether it be the representation of Lenders in commercial loans, developers in the acquisition, development and financing of projects, or just providing general contract and business counsel. McVey has also spent a great deal of time in the courtroom assisting his clients in the matters that may arise including the collection of outstanding debts, real estate litigation or representing them in bankruptcy court. Ian also represents contractors and subcontractors in the mechanic’s lien and other construction collection matters. Ian serves as co-chair of the Financial Services Industry Group for the firm, serves as the President of the South Carolina Bankruptcy Law Association and is the former President of the Richland County Bar Association.

Ian’s ability to handle transactions and complex litigation matters has made him invaluable to his clients. From the County Courthouse to Bankruptcy Court to the boardroom, McVey is comfortable that he can adequately address his clients’ needs. Further, Turner Padget’s team approach assures that any matter that arises for his clients’ can be addressed in a timely, cost-efficient manner.

Ian likes to spend time listening to his clients concerns and helping them come up with a solution that works for them. “It’s not always about whether I have a great idea. Most times my clients know what they want, they just need some help on how to get there.”
