David Cobb brings 31 years of litigation experience, successfully defending clients in construction defect claims, personal injury lawsuits, and insurance coverage matters. David has tried numerous jury cases to verdict in state and federal courts and holds an AV Preeminent rating from Martindale-Hubbell. He is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers and a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA). He is also a certified South Carolina state court mediator.
David’s practice includes defending general contractors, subcontractors, architects, and manufacturers in construction defect claims, product liability cases, and class actions. He also represents clients in personal injury matters, such as automobile accidents, premises liability, and defamation lawsuits. He also has extensive experience with insurance coverage matters.
He has been recognized by Best Lawyers in America for Construction Law, Litigation, and Personal Injury Defense (2018-2024) and was also named “Lawyer of the Year” for Personal Injury Litigation – Defendants in 2023. In 2024, Chambers USA honored him for Litigation: General Commercial.
David was graduated from Furman University graduate (magna cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa) in 1990 and continues to serve his alma mater as the president of the Charleston Furman Club president and as part of the Furman Radio Network broadcasts for Paladin football games for almost 20 years. He also recently retired after 33 years as the public address announcer for his high school’s football games. David has coached the Fort Dorchester High School Mock Trial team for 25 years and was honored as the SC Bar Law Related Education Lawyer of the Year for 2024.
He is also the proud father of two beautiful daughters, who both recently graduated from Clemson University.
