Robyn Madden is a seasoned attorney with decades of experience defending professionals facing licensing investigations and disciplinary actions. Based in Turner Padget’s Columbia office, she is a trusted advocate for clients facing public reprimands, license suspensions, revocations, and other sanctions that threaten their right to work.

Robyn has handled hundreds of professional licensing and employment-related matters before the South Carolina Department of Labor, Licensing, and Regulation (LLR), representing clients before boards such as the Board of Nursing, Board of Medical Examiners, Board of Dentistry, Board of Psychology, and the Board of Contractors. She also defends long-term care facilities, employers, and professionals in state and federal courts.

  • Successfully challenged an allegation of patient abandonment resulting in a dismissal before the South Carolina Board of Nursing despite the matter initially being scheduled for formal hearing.
  • Successfully challenged cease and desist order levied against a mining company losing thousands of dollars per day, enabling it to get back to work.
  • Resolved a cease and desist order served upon an unlicensed employee working in an optometrist office and resolved the pending investigation against the licensed optometrist.
  • Secured a dismissal for a nurse who was offered a public consent agreement and practice limiting restrictions tied to an allegation of improper billing.
  • Obtained a dismissal before the Board of Cosmetology in a case where the client alleged that the cosmetologist physically harmed her during a routine service.
  • Successfully challenged a temporary suspension order (TSO) served upon a licensed social worker, working with the licensee’s criminal attorney to dismiss the underlying complaint, return the client to work, and secure the dismissal of the pending board matter.
  • Successfully challenged a temporary suspension order (TSO) served following an allegation of non-compliance with the Recovering Professional Program (RPP), returning the client to work, without return to the program.
