Jacob (Jake) M. Thompson, III

Jake Thompson is an Associate in Turner Padget’s Columbia office, where he is a member of the firm’s Litigation team. He focuses his practice on defending complex cases in the fields of product and premises liability, insurance coverage, and personal injury. Jake’s approach emphasizes strategic advocacy and compliance with South Carolina law to achieve favorable outcomes.

A native of South Carolina, Jake has spent most of his life in the Pee Dee region and Columbia. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of the South: Sewanee, where he played collegiate football, before returning home to attend the University of South Carolina School of Law.

Jake is admitted to practice in South Carolina (2021) and the United States District Court for the District of South Carolina (2023). He is an active member of the Richland County Bar Association and the South Carolina Defense Trial Attorneys’ Association. Recognized for his legal excellence, he was named to Columbia Business Monthly’s 2024 Legal Elite.
