Columbia, S.C., April 8, 2025 – Turner Padget announces the additions of Robyn Madden as of counsel in the Professional License Defense practice and Jacob (Jake) M. Thompson, III as an associate in the Insurance Litigation practice. Both attorneys are based in the firm’s Columbia office. Robyn returns to Turner Padget, where she previously practiced before working in a statewide nonprofit organization.

Robyn brings decades of experience defending professionals facing licensing investigations and disciplinary actions. She is a trusted advocate for clients facing public reprimands, license suspensions, revocations, and other sanctions threatening their right to work.
Robyn has handled hundreds of professional licensing and employment-related matters before the South Carolina Department of Labor, Licensing, and Regulation (LLR), representing clients before boards such as the Board of Nursing, Board of Medical Examiners, Board of Dentistry, Board of Psychology, and the Board of Contractors. She also defends long-term care facilities, employers, and professionals in state and federal courts.
She earned her undergraduate and law degrees from the University of South Carolina.
Jake defends complex product and premises liability cases, insurance coverage, and personal injury matters. He is an active member of the Richland County Bar Association and the South Carolina Defense Trial Attorneys’ Association. He was recognized for his legal excellence in Columbia Business Monthly’s 2024 Legal Elite.
He earned his undergraduate degree from The University of the South: Sewanee and his law degree from the University of South Carolina’s Joseph F. Rice School of Law.
